Depends on what you want. If you mean photorealistic you again have two options.
For all view points and settings: No system will achieve this ever.
For some views and settings: Gran Turismo cars are already there in many instances.
Graphics won't be anywhere near real life for a long time. You can still easily tell between CG and real-life effects in movies.
Nah, when Devs try to make a realistic game it just looks brighter, and more happier place than the real world

As far as rendering in real time is concerned, PCs, which are several times more powerful than the so-called "HD consoles", aren't even capable of reasonably approximating one tree.
What makes you think they would be anywhere near real life anytime soon if they can't even come remotely close to rendering one tree properly? Even if you remove the leaves and branches they can't come close to rendering a tree.
I think that 2010 would be a little too early to see life like graphics in gaming as that is only a year and a half away and console and computer games are just starting to push the limits graphically wise with the current hardware.
