Forums - Gaming - Ps3 and 360s scary controllers

As my first topic I would like to say hi and I love the site ;) been a long time reader/visitor

Fore MS and Sony too reach the casual (I hate that word) audience is going too be very hard. Fore one thing Nintendo has that crowd plus allot of the hardcore Nintendo gamers (which is obvious). The other thing is the controller which is designed too be family/casual/hardcore friendly and that is something the others don’t have. Sure we can argue that the ps2 had a lot of the casuals even though it hade the same kind of controller but I think the dvd had people buy it and then thought that they could play games too. The thing is I think that even if they produce the “casual” friendly software it’s going too be hard fore them to make people wanting too touch the “scary” controllers of 360 and Ps3.

And one more thing will it always be that one of the systems will be the “everybody” king?

It will be fun too see how next gen plays out…

So what do you guys think?

Well... no

It's what the controller is used for not the design that makes Nintendo Wii the most popular.. But welcome to posting.

If perferring the PS3 over the 360 makes me a fanboy.. I guess I am guilty..

List of 360 Games I would like to have: Alan Wake

List of PS3 Games I would like to have: LBP, FFXIII(if it ever comes), R2(maybe)

List of Wii Games I would like to have: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (It's not an exclusive but it would be awesome)

I guess I can call myself a hardcore gamer cuz I actually think the Wiimote is the "scary" controller. :p

You can agree with him to an extent.
There are a lot of buttons on a PS360 controller, this could be kind of intimidating for a person who never touched a controller before.

The wiimote is more of a "natural" motion, where the player would swing the remote in order to swing the bat. Not as much of a learning curve or whatever.

Yes but without that design you wouldn’t be able use it in so many ways…

Um.. it's a stick shape... the PS3 controller is capable of motion too... it just would look funny if you swung it like a bat.

Actually, if you were "hardcore" you would not be scared by types of games or input methods.

(Notice I said "types" not "all games")

Liking one or a few types of games makes you a fan of that (those) genre(s).

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
