Forums - Sony - Get Microsoft to pay over 100 dollars towards your new PS3!

I am a big fan of Irony and deals, this post is about both.  There is a new Live.com deal involving ebay with a fluctuating cash reward of between 20 and 35%.

You do a search at live.com for the PS3 80GB bundle (or 60GB, 40GB, whatever) and the ebay result comes up on top.  You then scroll down to find a buy it now PS3.  Once you do, you click and buy it now with paypal and MS pays between 20 and 35% of the cost of the console!  This means that if you want an 80GB console it would seem that you're better off waiting for restocks at various stores, but that isn't the case!  Even if its only 20% (it fluctuates) and the console is 550 (50 above retail) because you get a 110 dollar cash reward the actual console cost is only 440!  Similarly you can get a 60GB that has a 350 buy it now for under 300 dollars and a 20GB for the mid 200s thanks to this deal.  Yes Microsoft will pay for a very large portion of your new PS3.  Normally I hate the live.com idea and think Microsoft search sucks the big one, but in this one instance it works to everyones advantage.

Doing this I found a MGS4 bundle that would have cost me 420 if I didn't already have a PS3.  You can do the same!

Does this work for everything? Can I get 25% off dragon force for sega saturn on ebay using this?

http://www.live.com is the search site, http://pages.ebay.com/cashbackoffer/terms.html?_trksid=m37 is the terms and conditions on ebays end.

Its pretty simple, just do a live.com search for playstation 3 and follow the top ebay link, find a PS3 with a buy it now option and poof, 20% cash back or more.

I wouldn't recommend using it with smaller purchases.  You are limited to using the cash back 3 times ever so it only makes sense for buying things that cost hundreds of dollars (anything under 1300, the cash back is capped at 250 per purchase).

I did this a few weeks ago when I bought Ico. The game goes for $90-100 new. I found one that had just gone up for $80, and it cost me $52 after the discount. Such an awesome deal. :D

Of course, I won't be able to collect my $28 until August.

Anything.  You just have to click the deal link, then search for whatever you want to buy.

It has to be Buy It Now, though.

Wow, that's hilarious.

As in go buy us some coffee.

They're basically paying people to use Live instead of Yahoo. lulz

I've gotten some really cheap shoes using cashback. Footlocker had a 25% coupon which I combined with the 15% cashback bonus on top of shoes were on sale for $99.00 which were orginally $135. Keep in mind you don't get your cashback payment until 60 days after your purchase.

I'm not actually sure who actually pays for the bonus. I don't think MS foots the entire discount as it seems to vary from store to store.
