the CCFC wants and Adults Only rating for the Wii version of this game in the US because of the controls...

Still only a recommendation, ESRB hasn't adopted this... yet.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

ESRB has rated the game and given the rating to Rockstar, but won't announce the rating for a certain period apparently:

Uk'ers, Aussies and germans can just buy it from any other european country. I know for sure this game won't be banned in Norway, which means it won't be banned in Sweden or Denmark either

Aussie Wii's (to my knowledge) will NOT play European Wii titles - just "special" AU (Australia/NZ) titles. Its not just about PAL - its also a region lock.

A ban here, will mean its never manufactured - so we can't ever play it... (unless it still gets a release in NZ... go NZ!).

well consdiering the wii can play UK games in AUS i don't see why not play the other PAL regions. We shall see i guess.

well, all i can hope for is that they release the game in the rest of Europe with English on it, so i can import it to the UK with little bother :P

Sweet, it would be the first adult only game for me!

I can't wait.

I'm not looking forward to Manhunt 2, but I think it's sad that games are getting banned in the UK. I'm not the biggest fan of censorship, even if something is just vulgar or gratuitous.

Just started typing and by an amazing coincidence they're talking about this on BBC News 24 in the background. "Mother blames original game for her son's murder," "Quite right it was banned," says some pundit with balding, curly ginger hair.

Give me strength, if this where in any other media there would not be a problem. It's just because it's a game that there's a problem. Way to support the burgeoning UK games industry BBFC - twats!

I'm not too sure if it's good or bad news for the Wii in the UK - good signal to send to 'hardcore' (that word should always be used in quotation marks) gamers, but bad news for the Wii's family friendly image.

The first videogame ban I am aware of in the UK BTW.

I should add that I'm not really big on these type of games which are pretty adolescent in my opinion, but people should be FREE to make their own choices.

Don't you think R* EXPECTED it to be banned in all the countries that banned the 1st one? I don't think they give a shit(about the ban) b/c it will ABSOLUTELY make it sell more where it is not banned.

vizunary,

First off the UK never banned the first Manhunt game and I can't remember a game that has ever been banned here.

Secondly, Manhunt was MADE in the UK - so the BBFC is hurting the UK games industry (which earns a lot of income for the UK economy).

Finally, I'm from the UK and I am 32 years old so I don't need some ginger, curly haired twat telling me which games I can and cannot play!

Gettit?
