Forums - Microsoft - Should I get an Xbox 360 next week, or play WoW and get a 360 this Xmas?

Altogether that's $80 for all three with Oblivion GOTY edition and about $55 for all thee with Oblivion regular edition. I hope this helps. Note that if you actively bid on these items you'll probably walk off with a much better deal, but these I'm showing you are sure things.

Play WoW and get a 360 this Christmas. I would expect MS to be chaotic, like Sony last year, so there could be more than one price cut.

Why do you think Microsft will be chaotic?

Because they are the worst in sales.

Thanks very much! Is GotY really worth it? I was just going to get vannila at the store with a gift card since it is 1/2 the price... unless GotY has alot of content. Also, is viva pinata trouble in paradise a sequal, or basically a GotY edition of Viva Pinata? I'm not going to buy the same game twice :O

Thanks for the link to blue dragon. How many hours long is it? I know LO is about 70 hours, but its still a bit too pricey.

I haven't played Oblivion so I can't tell you whether it's worth it. I do know the expansions put on an additional 40-60 hours of possible gameplay, so I'm sure it's a plus. Overall I would say stick with the original, since there's supposedly hundreds of hours of sidequests. If you really feel the need for more, just buy the rest in the future. Then again, I did just give you a link to a GOTY that's only $15 more than you're about to pay in retail for a new Oblivion regular edition. The choice is yours good sir. Flip a coin.

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is a sequel, and is going to have a lot of enhancements to the VP formula like co-op.

I've never played Blue Dragon but I'm betting it's your typical 60-120 hour RPG, depending on how dedicated to grinding you are.

In that case, thanks a bunch. I am betting I can download the extra content over Xbox live.

Do you know how many hours of gameplay Viva offers? It reminds me of a cross between animal crossing and harvest moon 64 (one of my favorite games ever). Hopefully its like harvest moon 64; animal crossing is a blast... for about 15 hours, then its tolerable for another 20, then sucks. Harvest moon 64 laster like 1 1/2 childhood years of playing :D

Is elder scrolls oblivion about $15 on ebay as well? I am thinking I should may be buy it off ebay, so I can buy a Teen version of the game instead of mature so my 12 year old brother could play it.

Buy a 360...Buy Oblivion:GOTY edition(yes it's worth it!)...Viva Pinata is a brand new sequel(not a GOTY update)...You should also be able to pick up Eternal Sonata pretty cheap as well as Blue Dragon...Lost Odyssey should be cheaper too(all of these games and more are really cheap here in Australia at the moment anyway)...
You seem to have made your mind up...Enjoy!!

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

I googled to see how long Viva Pinata is, and most answers came in around 30 hours. I only played the demo myself so I don't have a perfect working knowledge of it, but I know you basically build gardens and decorate land to attract pinatas so they'll want to stay. I think it leans more towards Harvest Moon than Animal Crossing, but I'm sure there's someone else that could give you a better answer than me.

Good luck getting a T for Teen version of the game. Most auctioners use stock photos to show the cover so you won't know which you're getting, and anyone advertising the T rated version is also smart enough to jack the price up as a collectible. I saw one going for 109.00 on a Buy it Now. I say buy the regular version, and if you get an M rated one, just print out the Teen boxart off the internet and use it as the insert.

Based on what you are saying,  it sounds like the two games are the same. Why did the reating change? If tinitiallyhey are the same, I'll just let my brother play it anyway, unless there is terrible hidden content the ESRB didn't  catch that will scar his young mind.
