Forums - Microsoft - Should I get an Xbox 360 next week, or play WoW and get a 360 this Xmas?

I have $40, and was supposed to get $150 more from market research, but it got cancelled. However, I have several hundred dollars in the bank, and my B-day is this fall, so I could withdraw money to buy an Xbox 360 next week, then use the $25 gift card to buy oblivion, and then in 3 weeks I get $40 more, and I could buy blue dragon and viva pinata. Then on my B-day I could ask for money and buy all the games I wanted this fall, like Fable 2 and Banjo Kazooie. ( I really want BK) and then this Xmas I could ask for money again, and then use my Xmas money to restock my bank account. I also mow lawns once in a while, so I could deinatly get the $260 back into the bank over the next 6 months.

Or I could spend $30 on 2 months of WoW and get my Druid to 70 over the summer, and then buy games for other systems with B-day money and ask for a 360 with Banjo Kazooie for Christmas. Only probelm with this is that I have a very tough schedule in school next year, and would not be able to play WoW, possibly ever again as I am going to College after next year and will need to get a summer job next summer.

So do you think I should play WoW or get a 360? I can't get a job this summer becuase summer is already 1/3 over, and I am (very slowly) recovering from bad asthma problems.

Thanks for your advice!

A waste of money either way imo

Get a 360 especially from Walmart or Radio Shack which give you a $25 gift certificate on top of the new low price of $299. Good luck deciding.

Or you could go swimming. Or read a book.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Why do you say that? Is it becuase you feel 360 has bad games, or possibly becuase you view RRoD as crippling? Both are ok with me; 3 year warranty is enough, new Xbox will be out after that, and there are many games I want for 360.

I can see why you would find WoW a waste, but if I play 3 or more hours a day WoW is quite fun, and several of my friends play WoW on the same server as my Druid.

MMO's ruin lives. Go with a console :D

Completed X360:
High Def Movie Collection

Go with the 360. It comes down to being able to grind in one game or play many. I'd like to think the many is better.

I would say go with the 360, you'll get more games to play.

I say this because (and remember this is my opinion and a lot of people will disagree):

The Xbox 360 is pretty expensive and on top of that you'll be paying $50 per year to play online with your friends. So if your planning on playing your system online for the next 5 years add $250 to the 360s price tag. Some people say that live is so much better then PSN that it's wort the extra $50 per year. I disagree but then again that's opinion. Remember if anyone says you have to pay for quality think RROD.

PS3 has a built in Bluray player and uses Bluray as it's standard format. Now the bluray player is only significant really if you have an HDTV. If you don't have an HDTV and don't plan on getting one for the next 10 years then no you shouldn't care.

People say that 360 has a better games lineup then PS3. But that argument was much more valid last year. The quality games lineup gap is closing. Actually IMO it's gone.

On to WoW.

WoW is a grindfest. So expect to pump close to 1500+ hours on WoW before you reach max Lvl (70). You can't expect to have much fun doing PVP on Wow untill you reach that level. Some people say they don't care about PVP. I ask the question: are you really going to burn that much time building a character up and not try and compete against other gamers? Wow has made a new Arena though where you can make a character at max lvl (a la guild, wars a better subscription free mmo imo). Finally gaming done in excess can be a vice. Having a game that you have to play either because of its extremely addictive nature or the fact that you are wasting money every day you don't play may or may not be a good thing depending on how you view it.

So thats why I feel the way I do about the 360 and WoW, and that's why a lot of people on this site hate on me.

A Wii lol

Out of those two...Xbox 360.
