that explains alot, some people are anti french
No just encountered some really stuck up french canadians no offense of course just from what I have experience, I don't like to stereotype except my canadian friends always tell me the same about french canadians so I just go with the flow just to make a joke here and there.
I like Canada... And Montreal is awesome. Though I lived here all my life, I never get used to the cold in winter. >_

The unemployment rate here is about 13% and they were never here to help us yet they are here with their hands out when we finally start generating oil revenue. We're just a cash cow producing tax dollars and readily available workers. |
I wanted to avoid this but I just couldn't let this go unanswered.
as long as I can remember the west (have provinces) have been making equalization payments to prop up the atlantic (have not) provinces so it only makes sense that as soon as you become a have province you start contributing.
talking facts per person newfoundland is now fourth in gdp. It took british columbias spot.
Gross Domestic Product per capita by province - 2005
($ per capita)
| NL | PE | NS | NB | QC | ON | MB | SK | AB | BC | Average | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GDP per capita | $41,802 | $30,166 | $33,484 | $32,152 | $36,009 | $42,812 | $35,500 | $43,330 | $66,644 | $39,658 | $42,374 |
| Ratio to mean | 98.6 | 71.2 | 79.0 | 75.9 | 85.0 | 101.0 | 83.8 | 102.3 | 157.3 | 93.6 | 100.0 |
but yet B.C. gets no equalization money and newfoundland recieves $938 per person.
($ millions)
| NL | PE | NS | NB | QC | MB | SK | BC | Total | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Equalization | 477 | 294 | 1,465 | 1,477 | 7,160 | 1,826 | 226 | - | 12,925 |
| Per capita | $938 | $2,118 | $1,564 | $1,968 | $931 | $1,543 | $230 | $0 | - |

It has 10% of the population & resources of the US but certainly not 10% of the cool stuff that the US produces (movies, TV-shows, famous people, actors, music groups, cars, tech, brands, military & science stuff, news, corporations etc). |
