Marijuana is a lot safer than alcohol or a lot of prescription drugs, its really stupid that it remains illegal. They should regulate it like tobacco.

One of the raddest groups who support legalization of drugs is a bunch of conservative cops. They travel around the country and educate people about how if we legalized drugs, we wouldn't have overflowing prisons and courts, so we could actually lower taxes. And we could tax the drugs, which would make more money for the government for... (insert preference here).

is this really true? if so i dont see any reason for it to be illegal then. I still wont use it though, i only take drugs if im ill and then theyre perscribed by my doctor, alchohol is my vice!
Why should it be illegal to mess up your own head though?
Should it be illegal to eat junk food that will give you diabetes?
im not saying it should be illegal. its just people should be made fully aware of dangers esp if it becomes legal ^^
I'm for legalization, but of course I'm also for education and regulation, like we do with drinking and smoking right now. Everybody knows they're unhealthy and basically stupid, and we have laws against doing them too young or buying them for minors, and it's illegal to drive drunk or do drugs at schools.
It would be the same for any new drugs that get legalized.
legal, tax growers and buyers.

examaning what ive read here it seems the best thing to do is to legalize it, but as part of a widespread governmental review of drugs policy including legalizing other "safe" drugs and improving education so people know the risks envolved with taking these substances (personally i think this should happen from a young age, so people have the facts before they are exposed to drugs) also i think taxation on it in a similar manner to ciggarettes and alcahol would be good as it would boost the economy and could be used to fund the educational reforms neeeded. i think an age limit should also be imposed for legal use, say 18 like it is for cigs + alcahol.
