MS has started pushing the arcade version on television in Australia.

Interesting enough they have copied a lot from Nintendo with their advertisement. Not once do they show the game, rather they are showing the people playing the game.

For this to start in this period of the year it really seems that they are trying to get momentum before the Christmas holidays.

Will MS add any more value to their pack as we get closer to Christmas?

Yeah I saw the ad as well and was thinking the same thing. Copying Nintendo. And first time I have seen a Xbox 360 ad as well.

obviously they wouldnt show a game...because they werent advertising a game. And nintendo is definitely the only company to ever have people in their ads......

Its the style of the ad that MS has copied. In Nintendo ads they have people on a couch playing games with each other and the MS ad is exactly the same. Including the camera angle where the camera would be where the tv is.

Normally i have seen them using small parts of a number of games, as they were "selling the games" as the reason to buy. But now they are using people having fun as they are "selling the fun" as a reason to buy

Once they get it known that the 360 is cheaper than the wii, it will outsell it in no time. In fact, i know a friend who's getting one since it's cheaper than the wii.

I haven't seen the ad yet.

I say let them copy, Ninty is kicking ass this gen and copying Ninty isn't going to slow the Wii down. If this doesn't boost 360 sales then it just makes them look more foolish, for copying the idea and failing at it.

LOL the arcade has been cheaper than the Wii in Europe so take a look at those numbers.......yea seems like 360 is getting killed in Europe so i doubt MOST ppl are like your friend there and go out and buy the cheapest console without looking at what is being offered.

Yeah but if you want a 360 you would want one with a decent HD wouldn't you. I do not think this will bother Nintendo as they are always sold out any way. For example the big W catalogue this week is a toy sale and the only thing they sold was the Wii. 360 and PS3 are both freely available and in a couple of weeks Target have their toy catalogue and the have huge supplies of both Wii and DS but a low amount of 360 and few PS3.

Yes, but AU is less against "MS" as a corperation than people in Europe and hence better recieved, so effectively we should see a better reaction to this price point than was seen in EU. I will say this will have a good effect in Australia, but it will have the biggest effect in America.
