Forums - Gaming - A Link to the Past is so damn brilliant!

i just started playing it recently. After the new Wii patch was released, and they blocked the twilight hack, (i know they've now rehacked it) i figured I finally hack my wii, and put the homebrew channel on. I wanted to try out the SNES emulator, so i tried a link to the past. I was only testing it out, and I started playing it, and then I just kept playing it, and now I'm a couple hours into the game. I'm loving it.

stof, you gotta play Wind Waker before Phantom Hourglass. It's actually a direct sequel with the same Link, and I think it takes place just a day or week later, or immediately afterwards or something.

Twilight Princess is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, but it takes place 100 years later.

Link's Awakening on Game Boy isn't a direct sequel to any of them, so you can play it in any order, but it's the last 2-D one that Nintendo made before Ocarina, so it was the last hurrah of 2-D Zeldas. And it basically took everything you loved from Link to the Past and improved on it. It is the perfect 2-D Zelda. I recommend it more than anything.

Great to hear you've passed the Adventure of Link. That's the most 1337 out of all of them. I love the hell out of that one too. If all else fails, use fire.

Welcome to awesome town, population: A Link to the Past.

Of all the top-down Zelda's I rate this as the finest. That's probably why Phantom Hourglass disappointed me so much. Everything about the game screams quality. It's one of the few games where you don't even realise you're collecting everything to get 100% because doing it is just so much fun.

@stof : with The Legend of Zelda - A link To The Past - you will know what a legendary game mean for real don't forget it the game you're playin' now was released at the beginnin' of the 90' see it was much more advanced to its era I know the GBA version is little bit enhanced and smooth than the Original but God oh God Alttp is by far the best game ever and for me no other can compete don't we see after 15 years there's still gamers playin' and enjoyin' it.

Stof I'd like to thank you for your sincere witness.

I just got it on the VC. It's the only console Zelda I haven't played, and I will be starting it shortly.

And how can you profess to be a gamer, proclaim that Zelda rules, and yet only have played three Zelda games!?!

I've watched friends while they've played the original Zelda and Windwaker,  and I've also played Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask but not beaten them (ok, I barely got anywhere with a friends rental of Majora's Mask).

I'm about 5 hours in to Twilight Princess so far, but I've been fairly sidetracked with tree planting, so I'm going to start it over again when I finally get the chance to sit down with it. It's just that having recently beaten Adventures of Link, I now feel like it just doesn't count until you've beaten the game.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I'm playing it right now on a GBA rerelease. This game is just perfect! I'm so sucked in. I just rescued the second maiden and I'm trying to find a way back to the forest in the dark world. Just about everything in this game nails it. You'll be so damn confused about what to do, but just before you're ready to quit and check a walkthrough, it hits you what to do.

This will be the third Zelda game I'll have beaten after Ocarina and Adventures of Link. And so far I love it just as uch as the other two versions.

Zelda rules...

I agree. Zelda is my favorite series. You should play them all. You would be in for a treat. Each game is different in their own way but keep the great game play. From the shrinking in the minish cap to the time based system in majoras mask, which was the best one to me.

This and Majora's Mask are equally my favorite zeldas. Majora's Mask for the theme and setting, and this for the gameplay.

Is one of the best Zeldas out there, definitely go for TP and then to WW and PH, if you can find Link´s awakenign you will find it very good but not on the LttP level...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

I need to play LttP on the VC then.

"Zelda rules..."

You're playing one of my all-time favorites.
