How do you stand your 360? Vertical or Horizontal?

Horizontal position is recommended for playing games. Vertical position increases disc scratching of X360 game discs.

If its only 6 months it should still be under warranty, give microsoft a call.

If it's only 6 months old you should be able to get it fixed. Should only take a week or so. Good luck man hope it all works out for you :)

Edit: Also make sure you are keeping the console horizontal as Rock said.

I've had this same problem with xbox games, Oblivion and Mass Effect. For some reason my 360 loves to scratch up those games while everything else remaind undamaged.
