Many people say 360 sales could´ve been MUCH better if RROD had never reared its ugly head...do you think that´s really the case?...Is the RROD such a well known and documented case for a potential 360 buyer?

Sales would be a lot better if the X360 had of been delayed by 6 months and more time was spent on improving the hardware reliabilty of the X360. Rushing it onto the market virtually untested to get a head start on the competition was a mistake in many people's eyes.Internal hard drive would of been the best option for the X360. External hard drive is a step backwards. The original XBox had an internal hard drive.
People have either bought a PS3 or the Wii instead of a 360. Such is life
Well considering the signifance of the RROD fiasco everyone would seem to be better off if it hadn't happened , appart from MS's competitors of course.
MS wouldn't have lost billions ( money which they could have put into buying more exclsuives , promtion , price cut etc)
The consumer would have more confidence in the 360 , more sales of the 360
Better media/public relations etc.
The list goes on.
Yes. I for one would probably buy a 360 if the RROD issue didn't exist. And I know quite a few other people who would. And as I cannot possibly imagine us being the only ones, yes, MS would definitely do better if they had reliable hardware.

Far better? I don't think so... That could only be true if the 360 wasn't selling well.
They would have been better, but there are more important problems with the 360 affecting its sales (Xbox isn't an established brand name, lack of innovation except for online, Wii; all those are worse for the 360 than the RROD is).

lol, are you serious? Yes, it's known by anyone who plays games, and it's known that it is (was) 30%. Hell, 1 in every 3 xbox owners definitely know it.
They are better now, but we don't know by how much. I think MS would have destroyed Sony this generation if they had made a box that was not the worst quality piece of electronics ever to hit the market.

I'm guessing RROD would have cost microsoft between 3-5 Billion in cost and lost sales , i'd consider that far worse than the alternative.

The 360 is not selling well. No HD console has sold well yet. Look at nintendo if you want to know what the market share could have been.

Maybe I should have said "selling well for a non-Wii console", that's what I meant.
Well doesn't mean great.
