Forums - PC - To quit or wait (WoW)

This account has 70 druid/warlock. Druid has pve gear(resto and tanking) for BT/Hyjal when i quit and full S3. Lock didn't do much just got up to 1050 spell damage unbuff and S2/S3 gear.

But yea after leveling 4 70s (1-60 sold prebc) it gets boring but once awhile I do like to get on and yea so far the alpha leaks and confirmed talents and spells are just too much for druids O.o. Even though I play a druid they are going to need the nerf bat in the expansion

Well it's just a time sink like any game - but it is one that never ends.

I was in a guild ranked in the top 100 in the world burning through Sunwell when I decided enough is enough, I needed some more variety in my life again as it was starting to feel like a second job. Decided to try out hardcore play for a while and didn't like it. Also didn't like playing with noobs, and unfortunately it's hard to find people who are good at the game and don't play 24/7.

Managed to sell my account for something like $400 and bought a PS3. Play COD4 now and then online with friends and some other games like MGS4 and GTA4. Atleast then you can do what you like without feeling you have to go to a raid.

Playing: InFamous, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, Modern Warfare 2

I don't know, what do you like doing more (console or PC)?

Also, how much would you have to upgrade?

I'll just do a quick breakdown from my opinion,

360 - initially cheaper than PS3, but you have to pay for Xbox Live and stuff like a hard drive (Arcade or upgrading to a 180gig HDD) or the dongle for wireless internet can be a little on the expensive side. Oh, not to mention that some of it's top games will be coming out to PC if they haven't already (ex - Gears of War, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Lost Planet, ect).

PS3 - More expensive than the 360, but it's feature list is nice for a media hub. Upgrading your hard drive can be done with nearly any 2.5" HDD (5400 RPM would be recommended) which is much cheaper per gig than it is for the 360. Also, I would recommend an 80gig with backwards compatibility if you're interested in that. Also, you have free online and the ability to use nearly any bluetooth headset to communicate with people online.

PC - Has your online and many of the great games that are gracing the consoles. You haven't mentioned your specs so I don't know what else I can say.

If anything I would get a PS3 I play PC more if anything and most of the games on the 360 will come out on the PC.

PC specs

Core 2 duo FSB-1333MHz 3.0GHz

2GB DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

BFG 7800GT

I am probably going to upgrade the Graphics card if anything to dual 4850 and upgrade ram as well

Ah, thanks for listing your specs. We're kind of similar in specs, I've got a Core 2 Duo 2160 (1.6ghz) @3ghz and an MSI 7800gt lol.

Yea, I have a PS3 and I play both it and my PC all the time. It's nice to have the PC and not have to worry about never getting the chance to play some of the 360's big games.

You'll get to enjoy the best of both worlds.

If I do get a PS3 I might wait till after E3 to choose it or not cause only games I am interested for PS3 is FFXII, MGS4, and Little Big Planet but nothing really else. So we will have to see.

When it comes to WoW, the answer is always to quit. Sell your account while your at it for some $$$.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Whoa, this shouldn't even be a question, sell it, grab the money, start enjoying life! ;)

I never got into WoW (I did give it a try though got to lvl 45 before I knew it was a time sink).
Instead I played Guild wars like a crackhead. During my time on guildwars I lost a gf that I loved very much because I totally was not interested in going outside or working out at the gym or anything I only cared about being the best. When you spend that much time with a game it can be very hard to put down. My advice is let it go. Uninstall and if you can sell the account hellz yeah go for it and cop the PS3. Take the money you'd be paying for the WoW subscription and use it for a gamefly account to rent any game for as long as you want.

Some amazing games that will make you forget about WoW forever: GTA4, Elderscrolls Oblivion, CoD4, Devil May Cry 4, GT5, Ratchet and Clank and omg Metal Gear Solid 4 (SICK).
Gamefly just sent me an Email and guess which game is coming next: Uncharted! I'm in gaming heaven right now. Not even gonna talk about the sexy bluray movies coming in from netflix.

Instead of getting a 360 just slap a new graphics card in your PC. I bought an nvidia 8600 512 gddr4 ram in January for like $80 bucks which makes my PC just a lil more powerful then a 360. Most likely you'll be able to buy a 8800 for that kind of money if not now then within a few months. That will definitely make your PC way more powerful then a 360 and you can still play Xbox 360 exclusive games.

Go for it man! And enjoy you new fresh sexy life WoW free!!!!

@Cheebee
I haven't been playing for 5 months enjoying it :D got into cycling with friends and frisbee. Also forgot my old friend alcohol and the ladies
@Leetgeek
I do own CoD4 and Oblivion for PC that is why I am avoiding PS3 atm I don't think paying 400 dollars for a system to play a couple games is worth it. I would only play GTA4 and MGS4 till other games come out. Like I said I am going to wait till after E3 to decide on upgrade or PS3.

The best time I ever had in WoW was the week after Burning Crusade launched. I haven't played in six months, but I expect I'll want to be activated and ready for the next expansion.
