Forums - Gaming - which do you like more the 2D or 3D era

2d, there are so many good games in that era that I have to still play. Almost every game I have played was excellent.

2-D was better because with only 2 dimensions the action's much more cramped, so games come out more hectic and need more reflexes.

Also, jumping in 3-D sucks. There are jumps in SMB1 that are harder than any jump in any 3-D game ever made.

2D.

4Ds for the WIN! wait... that can't be right.

2D, 3D still have a fair way to go.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

3D is better, due to the much freer movement. 2D isn't as "free".

I haven't played too many 2D games I would say, so maybe this choice is because of that. I like the 3d games more. One of my favourite games though is semi 2d though, and that is Abe's Oddysee.

I've gotta go with 3d, with the exception of Sonic, all the 2d games I loved made the transition to 3d
