As of right now, it may only display interest in the hardcore crowd, but in time with a pricecut, the audience will be amended for the medium of both types of gamers. The games that it has now and the upcoming titles in the future will apeal to everyone so that both crowds can relate to them.

P.S. Bet: PS3 2009 sales will equal Wii 2008 total WW sales.

 

 

You put to much opinion in there to be taken seriously if you put facts then I would be glad to agree but just to much opinion..

Sales don't make a game better if that was the case Wii play would be so many times better then everyother game. In all realism you can't another game is better then another since Reveiws are based off opinions.

For example reveiwer A gave game A a 90 while Reveiwer B gave game A 68. Now that mean mean the game A is great no. Does it mean game A is bad no. A game goodness is based off the players opinion...

 

Depends what your comparing it to, thats like comparing Little Big Planet to Halo 3, Halo may have more sales, but that doesnt mean that it is better than Little big planet...they are not of the same genre...but it was like Final Fantasy vs Fable or Motorstorm vs Baja...then sales could say otherwise

I'm just going use ph4nt's Pokemon and Mario kart there both sold better then FF and Motorstorm.

Uh, were talking about consoles here...and all the major final fantasie came out on Playstation...and if that were the case...the ps1 says hi it had the first gta, resident evil, and devil may cry.

The price is still "hardcore" and it all really depends on what you consider "hardcore". The definition I know is based off the number of hours spent playing games. The hadcore spend A LOT of time gaming/week while the casuals spend less time.

Another definition is based on the kinds of games: shooter and hardcore JRPG fanatics are considered hardcore while platformer and party-type game enthusiasts are usually considered casual. However, I think the definition based on time spent playing carries more weight since the second definition (which you seem to be applying) is entirely subjective.

Based off definition 1, any system could be hardcore or causal. What you point out is that the ps3 covers a "variety" of genres with its games. This has nothing to do with "hardcore" or "casual".

As for the bet, the only way ps3 ever catches wii is when wii 2 is released because I'm pretty sure the ps3 would be around much longer since Sony definitely hasn't made any money for ps4 R & D.

I think its moreso that PS3 is not only a hardcore system, but it also includes alot of other perks that can appeal to others too.

Sony domination will not happen this time.  You can count on it.  Nintendomination is already happening.  By the end of this generation Wii will be THE console to own for both hardcore and softcore games (makes me feel dirty typing that statement).

So the Wii is far better than the PS3 , because that's what sales show.

 

 

Comparing the PS3 and the Wii is like comparing apples to oranges... that are not the same price. Imagine that an apple was $5 bucks, and the orange was $1...people may agree that the apple is better, but not as many people are going to buy it because of price restrictions

I think you should change the PS3 from an apple to a lemon......
