Sure it is a rumor, but it is something Nintendo would do. Too bad, though. My expectations were that they were going to get their big 3 out the door in 2007, while focusing on some new IP's-Project HAMMER and Disaster Day of Crisis- in 2008.

The only way I will forgive Nintendo for this is if they tell me the new Zelda is coming out late 2008 and show me a kick ass trailer. Otherwise, SHAME on you Nintendo. I may have to side with those that say you are abandoning the core. Prove me wrong, leave us Disaster.

I predict no new Zelda till the next Nintendo console.

That's a horrible prediction, considering development on Zelda Wii started a year ago, and it only takes 3 years to make a great Wii game.  09 at the latest.

Am I the only one that really didn't see much potential in this game?

You get to run around and swing a hammer at Robots... Ok, that sounds good for a level, two tops... What, the whole game is called Project H.A.M.M.E.R. !?

Now Disaster:Day of Crisis; That's a game I'd like to know more about.l

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

No, you aren't the only one.  I agree completely.  I think it looked like the definition of generic "beat-em-up."  There are SOOOOO many more Wii games to look forward to.

Would Nintendo rather have 30m users who buy 10 games each - or 100m users, who buy 3 games each?

So you're saying this is a good thing. By that logic they should chop off Mario and Zelda too because they cost more to make and should focus on games that are cheaper to make and appeal to a mass audience.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

WTF I wanted that game, just becasue it is a generic "beat-em-up", but I can understand Nintendo if they find that the game was boring. But please give me something else than Mini games or it will be VC only for me soon.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

The one Wii game you were looking forward to was a generic hammer swinging beat-em-up that we had 2 screenshots of?

Wow now! Settle down naznatips, there were videos too! A couple of them infact. And they were all of a guy swinging a hammer...

Now this isn't to say that a beat'em up wouldn't be great. I'd personally love to see a new River City Ransom, or that six player Xmen game you'd always find in arcades. And the Wii would give some great control options for that kind of game. Project Hammer just didn't look like that kind of game.

Finally someone else who feels like I feel and isn't anti-Nintendo just anti what they're trying to do with the Wii.

This is one of the best Wii threads to date. Not because a game was (maybe) canceled, but because some Wii owners are finally concerned over the game content of their system. Maybe I'll be able to stop being a PS3 fanatic and enjoy Nintendo again. I'm getting a Wii but I'm concerned as much with the Wii as I am with my PS3.

I'd really like to know why they would cancel a game, though.
