Forums - PC - Software help: need help with joining .mov vids to make .wmv vids.

Yes, somehow when I had to get a replacement laptop last week when my second one was destroyed in my car wreck (I'm okay, but my laptop got destroyed by the impact, and so did the front of the car, but it's being repaired), using Windows Movie Maker on my second laptop I was able to join individual .mov files on the software to make a full .wmv video file. But on my new laptop (and they are both Vista Home Premium), Windows Movie Maker is unable to import .mov files into video editing (it's from a camcorder my family uses and it can only save video files as .mov ones). I'm not sure if I had some form of a codec installed on my second laptop or what had caused Windows Movie Maker to import .mov files, but my new replacement laptop cannot do that...

Was there a fix to Windows Movie Maker or something on my new laptop to disable me from importing .mov files? I've searched the Internet nearly all last night for some way to get Windows Movie Maker, or any other piece of software, to join .mov files into one big movie. The reason I'm mentioning this is because I did some filming for a summer course at community college and the project it is due for is this Friday. So could someone suggest me some sort of fix for Windows Movie Maker or another piece of software to join .mov files into a .wmv video file? I've already tried Nero 8 on my laptop, but I can't seem to get it to import .mov files either. ANY HELP would be truly appreciated...
