Babe of the Week: Virtua Fighter Hotties

Pai Chan

Virtua Fighter's Pai Chan is a 22-year old Hong Kong movie star that loves dancing. Skilled in the martial art of Ensei-Ken, she swiftly pummels her opponents with lightning fast punches and devastating kicks.

A beautiful woman with a troubled past

Despite her success, Pai carries a deep hatred for her father, Lau Chan, who also makes appearances in Virtua Fighter games. She blames him for the death of her mother, who worked herself to death while supporting the family.

Her desire for revenge dominates her very being

Pai seeks revenge and recognition from Lau by attempting to defeat him in combat, though she is largely unsuccessful. However, after she learns that her father has grown ill and needs someone to run his martial arts school, she sets out to not only beat him in a rematch, but to be his replacement.

Vanessa Lewis

If you ever need a bodyguard, hire Vanessa Lewis. Unlike other martial arts, which have rules to prevent serious injury, she fights with Vale Tudo, which translates to "anything goes." That means she won't hesitate to break someone's legs or curb their heads on the sidewalk.

Such a pretty face, but she has a tragic past

Vanessa didn't have a normal childhood. After her parents were killed, she was snatched by the evil group J6 and trained to fight. A dude named Lewis eventually rescued her, but J6 killed him. Once she grew up, she sold herself to people needing security, eventually agreeing to protect Sarah Bryant after learning that J6 intended to kidnap her. She sees this as a great opportunity to track down Lewis' killer.

Sarah Bryant

Before Virtua Fighter began, the lovely Sarah Bryant was an innocent college student in San Francisco. That is, until her brother Jack was in a horrible car accident while racing in the Indianapolis 500. Suspicious that someone caused it, she launched her own investigation, only to get kidnapped by Judgment 6 (J6), that for whatever reason brainwashes and teaches her martial arts.

She takes sibling rivalry to new heights

Eventually, Sarah regains her memories, though she still questions her actions in the third Virtua Fighter tournament. Either she attempted to kill her brother because J6 instructed her, or she always wanted to. Confused and in search of the truth, she enters the fourth VF tournament to face her brother in a final confrontation.

Eileen

Like Vanessa, the cute Eileen lost her parents. Raised by her grandfather, a martial arts master in China, she becomes an expert in Monkey Kung Fu. In addition, she joins a Beijing opera troupe, possibly as an outlet to help her deal with her troubled past.

She loves Pai just as much as we do

After catching one of Pai's martial arts demos, Eileen becomes enamored with the Hong Kong movie star, but doesn't know how to approach her. Instead of mailing her a letter, she joins the fifth Virtua Fighter tournament in the hopes of a chance meeting. No word on what would happen if she had to face her in combat. Perhaps she hasn't thought this decision all the way through.

Aoi Umenokouji

Aoi first appeared in Virtua Fighter 3. Whereas most of the combatants enter the tournaments to settle scores, she only seeks to test her skills. She's also friends with Akira Yuki, one of the more famous characters from the series

Aoi Loves to Win

After long, epic battles, Aoi is victorious. That's cool, but who puts a giant cage in the middle of a city and sanctions fighting? How does that happen? It's obviously not very popular, seeing as how only a handful of people showed up. Perhaps it's a small town.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
