Meh, fine. Give them your money. But when you're seeing Saints Row '09 and the yearly sequel after that, you'll know who you should have supported. Rockstar still has a chance to redeem themselves, but THQ can only go down..

They've already gone wayyyy up.  They've added a ton of stuff in Saints Row 2 that it didn't have in Saints Row.  It's Rockstar who took a winning formula and obliterated it. I honestly have no idea what the hell they were thinking.  It doesn't take a genius to realize that your games sell based on diversity of gameplay and lots of freedom to do what you want.  What it does take is a moron to go through and strip out all that diversity and freedom and bottleneck players into the stupid main story.

I am thankful for one thing though... at least with GTAIV, all gamers now understand that reviews are just opinions.  We don't have to follow reviewers to enjoy our hobby.  We just have to play what we find to be fun.

Let's just see what the next GTA brings, alright?

I...I...liked it.

I think with a game with such hype, it's hard to please everyone. I'm sorry, i wouldnt compare saint row with GTA yet, looking fun is hardly an excuse to bash the merit of a great game.

I expect Saint Row to be what Blitz was to Madden, FUN WITH NO SUBSTANCE  which equals to rental to me.

As opposed to lots of substance but no fun?  Come on, what made GTA fun is that they didn't over-develop the plot and instead emphasized the freedom and gameplay diversity.  GTAIV is not that game. It's not GTA.  It has no right to call itself GTA.

the driving ruined this game for me,,,I mean if I spend 60% of time driving,I do't want it to be realistic,,I want it to be fun,,,,,,beside after you fail a mission it's pain in the ass to start all over again and drive o other corner of the city.I am at 32% and haven't touched the game in like 2 months.

for me, it was a disappointment when they announced there won't be character customization..... :(

I like the storyline enough to ignore the lack of content. As for dates/hanging out, I couldn't care less about these things. I just want the achievement for having 90% or more with all your friends. If it weren't for achievements, this game wouldn't be half as fun as it is because ther would be no motivation to do these tedious side missions and activities.

The next GTA should involve some spunky and ambitious young punk who ran away from home and does odd jobs in the inner city. Also, he knows Taekwando. See, that would kick ass, and I didn't even have to think that hard.

why not, it was an great experience and the begining was slow, but once the game got rolling, its just as good as any GTA game. The problem is, we expected too much with so many reviewers giving it a 10.

I hear people talking about san andreas, yet i heard all kind of complaints when that was released as well. btw, it was just an ugly looking game on the consoles.

How many of you guys have given online an honest shot? I personally haven't because as soon as I finished single player, I moved on to MGS then Mario Galaxy and now Zelda: TP. I would think that the online would provide a lot of that over the top crazy thrill from the old games.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Unless there's some magical mystery achievement that unlocks the enormous list of missing features I posted up there, there's no way it's any better later in the game than it was in the 10 hours I've played of it.  People complained about San Andreas's lack of humor, but they never complained about a lack of content.  Lack of content in GTA is a ridiculous problem.

This game is a mockery of the franchise. It's not a bad game for what it is, but it's a very bad GTA game.  What it is is a practically linear third person shooter.  You ever played Metroid Prime Hunters?  It was a good first person shooter, but a horrible Metroid game.  This is the Metroid Prime Hunters of GTA, and yeah, I'm pissed about it.

Meh. I had fun with a game...any game that is fun is not a disappointment.

I wasn't dissapointed at all. I've put more hours into gat 4 then any other gta infact (and I've played them all). Its a different direction but I liked it.
