It would have to either be bundled, or otherwise the game will sell poorly. Games that utilize both control schemes usually suck.

Not if you're talking about Wii games... There are plenty of good games there which support tons of control schemes.

I was talking about a game made for a console that has to use both the dual analog, and the wiimote controls. The interface would be too diferent if they were developuing the game for both. Also you would see no benefit in usuing the wiimote, because  the game would be made far slower for the standard controls, and it would be really easy with the wiimote.

You're right, I was thinking too generally... A shooting game would probably not work well with both control schemes.

On the other hand... Was there any big difference in content between RE4 for GC and Wii? The GC version was probably harder due to the crappy (in comparison) controls, unless there were less enemies.

I don't know, I never played the GC version. I think I heard there were more enemies in the wii version though.

This is probably one of the things no one shows any care for beforehand, but if it happens PS360 fans will all be "IN YOUR FACE, WII OWNERS", right before they head out to the shops to happily buy their WiiTooMotes.

Or maybe not, I'm just curious. It will be fun to watch the meltdown if Sony/MS do announce something about it at E3.

I'm all for having options with how I play my games. RE5 could easily utilize both control schemes. If you play with dual analog it could call for less enemies on screen than if you played with whatever motion sensing thing Microsoft is working on. Another possibility is enemies can take more damage with the motion control scheme than with dual analog. It could work.

I can already see the arguments:

Fanboy 1: "It's more hardcore to play the game with analog sticks!"
Fanboy 2: "Nah, it's definitely harder with the motion controls, I know it because I read it on a review."

etc ...

If there's an argument to be found, fanboys will argue it. Luckily most people on this site don't have a 360, and those that do don't post much. So it'll basically be the other fanboys arguing over that tidbit. In fact I think the Microsoft Forum would be completely dead if it weren't for 360 and Wii fans making threads and contributing...oh and starcraft of course too.

Sony might also launch a new controller... Wasn't there a rumor of some transformer-like thing?

Yeah something like that. It sounds interesting, but it would be hard for it to be well designed and not flimsy. My Transformers toys would break all the time.

I really don't think you are going to see many third-party devs do both sets of controls. Just extra work that they don't want to do.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
