He stepped down a while ago to focus on his humanitarian relief efforts and his foundation. The man is trying to leave a good memory of himself now that he's reaching the last lap of his life...kudos to him! Many rich people are nowhere as philantrophic!

I have no idea but Bill Gates announced he was retiring and handed the ceo position to Steve Ballmer sometime ago. I certainly heard this last year. Don't know why it just became news to msn
