Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Average Gamer dosent care for JRPG's?

So what do you guys think. I mean i consider myself an average game i play maybe 1 to 2 hours a day not to crazy i follow the basic news for gaming. I like fps i love action games and a game with a good story always wins me over, but jrpg's  have never really excited me i just cant get into the battle system the majority of them use and the action always seems to be in slow motion. Now im not bashing jrpg's cause there is alot of people that love them and i mean alot, I have alot of respect for the final fantasy series and for the most part all the jrpg's.

Look at MS latley all there big annoucments have been about jrpg's and thats a good thing because right now they are the fps kings, and thats all i know the 360 for being, but like i said dose the average gamer really careabout jrpg's or will the fps market and action games always come first in my opinoin yes they will and jrpg's will always be last on my list

Be honest with nobody and lie to your self MGS4 best game EVER on ps3 :?!!!!!!!

JRPG's are aimed at hardcore gamers.

I doubt it. Most gamers dont seem to like RPGs. Personally, I love em, especially JRPGs. 360 is tring to expand its base; Microsft wants to try and snag the RPG and FPS fans, may be get soften their image and get some kids/Nintendo fans in with Viva Pinata and Banjo.

In Japan and other parts of Asia, RPGs are common place and are very popular. In the rest of the world, not so much. Microsoft realizes that their main weakness is Japan so they're trying to bring games to the 360 that will boost sales in the region (not realizing that they have no chance of that ever succeeding and should just let the games be on a console that people actually own).

Outside of Final Fantasy anyway. The hype Final Fantasy games get lets people buy those yet not others.

Despite Final Fantasy games not really being much different.

Like I said before. The only RPG's that bring in any non Hardcore gamers (if at all) is Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Pokemon. (Possibly Zelda if you consider that RPG) Once you get past that.... Well it's not pretty.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Cue the typical macho american stereotype that they can't pay attention for more than a few minutes without killing someone with a gun.

Then I'm a hardcore gamer... especially if you count the amount of hours I've spend for the past couple of days on Oblivion *eeks*.

Meh, games should be where the most people can play them. They shouldn't be thought of as business assets.
