The new NVidea GeForce GTX 280 is more than twice as powerful as the GeForce 9800 GTX!

This is a pretty good new card, but really I think the best part about it is its going to bring the GeForce 8 and 9 cards down into the below $200 and even below $100 range which is when I'm going to be building a new computer to run Crysis maxed out!

Good, I'm considering an EVGA 8800gt so I hope these new cards will equal price drops.

Ahem, FYI these cards aren't the ones driving the prices down for 8800s and 9800s...its the new ATI 48x0 line-up.

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

Hmmz great I am still stuck with a Geforce 2.

and the news 9800GTX+ is a 55nm version of the GTX

The Radeon 4850 completely destroys the competition and also beats cards that are $100 (9800GTX) or even $200 (GTX 260) more expensive.

Your GTX 280 ($649) is beaten by 4850 Crossfire ($398).

And your point? of course crossfire on a new generation of cards will top a high-end card thats basically a mid-generation card. Lets have a game that actually takes advantage of CUDA as nothing does at the moment and then lets see what happens. From what I can guess CUDA will be nVidia's trump card.

Its strange to think that 500mm^2 of of lower grade chips can best 560mm^2 of the top bin chip in a less efficient crossfire arangement. You would think that the GT200 should thrash the 4850 Xfire based upon specs.

Also you could make the same argument about Havok since AMD has rights to use that technology on their GPUs

Tease.
