Forums - Microsoft - If you had to send back your 360, was your UPS Store keeping tally?

I had to send back my 360 a couple days ago for a drive failure (not RROD).  I didn't even get a coffin - I had to pack it myself (did MS run out?).  He recognized the shipping label, though.

The employees had a tally on the wall of how many 360s went through their store for fun.  I was apparently the 52nd in 2008 to go there this year.  I asked about other consoles and he told me the distant 2nd was the DS because the hinge would break.  He said he didn't see any Wiis or PS3s.

On a better note, the number has decreased sharply since last year, where about 2-3 a day would be going through.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

I'm not sure.  They must be low on boxes.  I know I live within 5 hours of Mesquite, TX (San Antonio).

You'll love this, when I was in the UPS store in early December (ironically sending back a DS for the hinge problem), there were 2 people (out of many in the store) that had similar sized boxes to each other. The girl behind the counter looked at the first guy's box (NOT THE TAG) and said "360?". When the guy responded yes, the other person held up his box as well. She commented that they shipped a few almost every day. I told them I was shipping a DS, and she said they didn't get too many of those (Though I've had to return it twice, the hinge and some dead pixels).

When I sold my PS3 (and shipped it UPS) I asked if they were still seeing lots of 360's still going back and was told it had slowed down a lot but was still pretty steady.

BAM! There it is!

when i got mine back (about a year ago) the guy told me he had delivered 10 more that day.

Wow, with 5,600 UPS stores, at 3 a day for 365 days = 4088000 360s a year. That is amazing.

Its sounds so high when you put it like that, but not really out of the question considering how many have been sold.
