If true, this would kill the 360 this year. Gears2 is their most important title of the year.

Microsoft would be renting chimpanzees from the Seattle zoo and using them as playtesters if it helped them ensure a 2008 release for Gears 2.

I'll log this under fake rumors for now. If there is a delay, I doubt they will announce anything for quite some time.

There hasn't been any credible evidence anywhere of GeoW2 falling back to 2009. This is just FUD. What a change 2008 brings. 2007 was the year of FUD-slinging by the anti-sony crowd and now 2008 has brought out FUD-slinging by the anti-microsoft crowd. What the hell has gone wrong in video gaming? People are so damn concerned about being fanboys, they have lost perspective on what is important -- games. The competition has brought some of the best games ever but that doesn't matter because, by god, XXXX title was delayed! Doomed!!1!11ONE!

This seems unlikely. They're pushing the engine a bit an no doubt tweaking content but a lot of the game is building on the first and the team must know the 360 inside out by now... so I doubt its delayed.

If, and like I say that's a big if, then MS would likely sit on the news until they had to announce it as it would be very bad for 360 lineup this year and into holidays if true.
