Er? Where did I say it didn't have any exclusives? I said it doesn't have any exclusives even approaching MGS4's significance.

So now MGS s the most significant exclusive. A month ago, you called it a niche game.

Have you changed your mind about MGS being a niche game, or are you saying the best the PS3 can do it make there most significant exclusive, a niche game?

Oh, and by the way, no game franchise in Sony history has moved more consoles then GT. GT is the most significant franchise in Sony's exclusive library.

As we have become accustomed too, you ignored my post's context.

I was talking about the end of the year and the beginning of next year.

Furthermore, what I actually said is that STEALTH is niche but that MGS4 DOMINATES stealth.  I also pointed out that dominating ANY genre as MGS does stealth automatically equals a massive success.  Look at Mario and platforming.

I also Expect 350,000 - 400,000 360's sold in first week of Gears 2.

- Starcraft had already addressed why this isn't going to be a huge hardware push.

Then theres Japan. I really believe that 3 exclusive JRPG's this year for the 360 will have an impact on sales for 360 in Japan.

- 360 is not going anywhere fast in Japan. That being said, everytime I see your avatar, I'm reminded that I soon need to buy a 360 for those RPG's.

HE could actually be right about the 350-400k consoles in Gears 2's first week, but for a different reason.  It will be late November, the console's sales could be close to those numbers irrespective of Gears.

I don't think the Xbox 360 will go anywhere in Japan significant enough to actually effect worldwide sales THIS generation, but I do believe the sheer number of exclusives the console is getting for the country is going to make things a little better for MS there next generation.

o,9k ol 7onklllllllllllllllllllllyh6yh6yh6yh6yh6yh6gb = face plant on my keyboard. With a little bit of derangled mooching.

This thread = :/

"I think Goku would PWN vegeta because he has the ultimate powerz"

"No I think Vegetaz would PWN gokuz so hard man, just wait. Hes gonna kill him like he couldn't in the beginning"

"No goku won't die serious"

"Serious man, hes got that Metal gear solid BOOOOST, look hes owning him, hes got him tied up on that rock"

"Dude, just wait till the next episode I know he will pwn him"

Xbox360 vs PS3 is like two kids arguing after every episode of DBZ.

Tease.

Ahh, well I think where you miscalculated MGS4, is it's not a stealth game. It's a game that can be played with stealth, or it's a game where you can run and gun. It's whatever you want to make it, and that's a very powerful thing in todays gaming.

Anyway, back OT....

MS has a chance to fix the US, and then hope that in a year or two they grow outside the US. The 360 however, is dead to the rest of the world. The price cut in Europe having very little effect proves that.

Also, sorry if this has been brought up and debated in this thread. I just woke up, and didn't feel like reading 4 pages of MDF.

Oh, remember the thread I made where I said I was getting a 360 and a lot of titles to go along with it?...Well, I did it, and I´ve been playing Mass Effect a lot...a question...I´ve seen the green light on the 360 controller sometimes flashing in all 4 directions....is that the controller´s warning about the battery starting to go low?

The PS3 is on it's way up, while the 360 is leveling off. We can argue all day what games will sell what, but that doesn't really matter all that much. Sony is ragaining their mojo again in the battle of public perception. It's a slow crawl, and still has much more work to do, but the PS3 is on a path upward and is far from peaking. The 360, it seems to me, has reached the audiance it's going to get. Sure it'll get little boosts from some big games, and price cuts will help too, but they're not going to compare to the boosts the PS3 gets from it's big titles and future price cuts.

All things concidered the 360 should have a bigger lead on the PS3 than it has right now. It should still be outselling the PS3 on a monthly basis in the US. The fact that it isn't should definetly concern Microsoft. The PS3 is a sleeping giant with Sony's still formidable brand name behind it. It's not a question of if the PS3 overtakes the 360, only when.

Ah, wasn't thinking about that. You may very well be right.

I agree with you fully here. I think MS has definitely made strides in Japan. The fruits of their labour may not show any results this gen in Japan, but next gen may be a different story.

Lets not get twisted here. MGS4 is amazing. But as I said. 1.3 million in terms of big exclusive and for MGS4 is good but not great for Sony. As I mentioned other games this gen gave other consoles a much bigger boost and sold far more on first day. In terms of between now and February what do Sony have left?. See LBP I expect to sell 2-3 million entire life. Resistance 2 I expect 2-3 million entire life. (Look at R1)
Now 360 between now and February. Gears 2 I expect 7 - 9 million entire life and over 2 mill first day sales. Fable 2 I expect 5-6 million entire life and 1.5 mill fist day sales. BK3 I expect 4 - 5 mill sales entire life and 1 mill first day. Too Human I even expect 3-4 mill entire life and 500,000 first day. I also Expect 350,000 - 400,000 360's sold in first week of Gears 2. Then theres Japan. I really believe that 3 exclusive JRPG's this year for the 360 will have an impact on sales for 360 in Japan. Again I refer to my sig. And theres games I havent mentioned which should get to 2 or 3 million or also.

Those predictions are beyond Crazzyman levels.

MGS4's success has really made you lose it, hasn't it?

Which side of the bed do you Fanboys get up on?. MGS4 is a success for Konami. But for Sony it will not be what they were hoping. Look without your fanboy goggles for a minute. I'll repeat. Halo 3 1.9 million First day sales in US alone. GTA 4 3.6 million first day sales. So for Sony to hitch the sales take off for PS3 on MGS4 (which they have) and it to be nowhere near other titles which sold systems better, the rest of the year will definatley be M$'s in terms of hardware sales. Quote me in February if you like, but I think I maybe only wrong on 1 game.

Hehe, that's the first time I've been called a fanboy. It feels nice and I'm glad to have lost my virginity to you. But in all seriousness, just because someone disagrees with you, it does not make them a fanboy.

Honestly, your post simply read absolutely crazy to me. MGS4 is not Halo 3. It isn't GTA4. In fact, no one expected it to sell near those, so how exactly is it a disappointment to not reach something no one expected it to?

Your predictions are what truly made me chuckle though. But in all honesty, I really really do not care to counter why I think each one is off. The only three I will comment on are the ones that stuck out the most to me:

Too Human I even expect 3-4 mill entire life and 500,000 first day.

- Not that I can say you're wrong, but this is a completely new ip, one that has had major issues being completed for 10 years. All the same, you predicted 2-3 mill for LBP, which is also an untested ip, but yet is being hyped, touted and expected to be an absolutely great game by anyone who has played it. Again, not to say that the same isn't being said about Too Human, just that it has nowhere near the same excitement around it (in genereal). Just curious why the disparity in your predictions?

I also Expect 350,000 - 400,000 360's sold in first week of Gears 2.

- Starcraft had already addressed why this isn't going to be a huge hardware push.

Then theres Japan. I really believe that 3 exclusive JRPG's this year for the 360 will have an impact on sales for 360 in Japan.

- 360 is not going anywhere fast in Japan. That being said, everytime I see your avatar, I'm reminded that I soon need to buy a 360 for those RPG's.

I'm not trying to force my predictions on people. But I dont understand why I'm the only one that can see a problem for Sony?. Sony (maybe not the public) but Sony certainly thought MGS4 would take PS3 sales to new heights. But thats not really happening. R2 and LBP may be good games but system sellers?. I think they will sell fairly well but mainly to already PS3 owners. And anyone who underestimates Square enix JRPG sales in Japan may have a shock. Any PS3 owner can quote my sig if I'm wrong in February. But be damn certain now that I'll be quoting it if I'm right. And I am 80% confident.

Yeah, when the ring of green on the controller starts to spin, it means your running low.

Do you like Mass Effect?  Tell me where your up too? (black out the spoilers)

This is a good point.

The 360 has had a better library all along, and still has been loosing. Why would making it even better help? I think we have discovered that the library is not the problem.

Fixing what's not broke, is not a fix at all.
