Forums - General - Hey, I need some help getting a video file to play.

So I DLed this video file, duop.avi, but when I try to play it in my media player (I just use windows media player) all I get is audio. I look at the properties of the file and it says it's a video clip and even gives dimensions of the picture and it's frame rate, but when I play it and look at the properties it says it's media type is "audio" and gives no information about it's video codec or video size. I checked to make sure my media player is up to date, but still audio only. So what's the deal?

Try downloading Media Player Classic or VLC.

VLC is the way forward
http://www.videolan.org/
Or k-lite codec pack
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm
This is great cause you can get rid of quick time and real player.

Yeah use VLC. Or try Quicktime.
