Forums - General Discussion - Do you think or don't you think that professional car racing (aka F1 and such) should be considered as sport?

Just want to know what you think on that matter ;)

I think it's technically a sport, but ya know... not a "real sport."

If curling is a sport then yeah, there are many so called "sports". Plus F1 is awesome!!!

Mil. Sellers:

Wii:      25 titles       101.4 mil total    avg 4 mil per title

PS3:     14 titles      28.6 mil total    avg ~2 mil per title

360:     41 titles      89.8 mil total   avg  >2 mil per title

Lol i was gonna say its a "Motor Sport"

As opposed to darts or snooker?

lets not confuse physical sports (i.e. track and field, football, etc. etc.) with the general definition of sports. Under the general definition, even poker is considered a sport. Its not an Athletic sport, but one nonetheless.

 This/That Guy has is right.

Although F1 is very physically demanding.

Indeed it is a sport.

Heck, even Chess can easily be considered a sport, in fact didn't they try and get chess into the winter olympics?

Racing in general is more physically demanding than you think. Your body has to handle a bunch of Gs for a really long time and at the same time you're going ~ 300 kph and making sure you don't die, but at the same time staying ahead of everyone else

Race car drivers are pretty physically fit, in general. I cannot say the same about poker X_x
