Forums - General - Should We Irish Vote Yes Or No On Lisbon Treaty

As some of you might be aware, we are voting on Thursday on the Lisbon treaty.

We are the only member state with a vote on it because of our constitution.

Any way the yes and no side are bashing each other over it with the three biggest parties wanting a yes.

The treaty is to make the bigger European project  run more efficiently with more qualified majority voting and lots of other stuff.

Anyway, it is too complicated to go into and I was wondering of the people who do know about it what is your thoughts yes or no.

I.am a no vote.

vote yes, greater EU intergration will benefit Ireland even more than it has already(Irelands economy is booming largely due to EU support), if you vote no, then the treaty ends alltogether for all of europe not just you.

sorry ps360 your reasons do not persuade me. we have done well out of europe but this treaty does not convince me it is the best deal for ireland or other smaller countries.
voting no would enable us to go back to the table.
