Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What if Ubisoft claim the rights of The Conduit and its engine?

High Voltage doesn't want to get a publisher that would limit their creative ideas and or decisions. They want free reign over their work and don't want a publisher that would hold them back.

Ubisoft didn't do anything to make No More Heroes successful. I don't know if it was them that made the internet ads on IGN or Gamespot, or any other website. The only reason NMH sold so well was from word of mouth. When you say "what do you expect", I expect a publisher to actually advertise their game so it can sell.Fortunately, NMH has sold 315k copies so far.

I don't know if Far Cry had good controls, but I do know it was hailed as a horrible game on the Wii. Also, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 was praised for its controls, but penalized for its graphical shortcomings.

If Ubisoft published The Conduit, there would be a big chance that no one would eve get to know, since they probably wouldn't advertise it outside the websites.

Wii/Mario Kart Wii Code:2793-0686-5434

what HappySquirrel said (and it's the same reason as why Ubi shouldn't have taken Tenchu =/)

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

also ubi didnt make NMH. if ubisoft developed NMH, it would have never been on the wii, unless it was a port from a last gen console

How so? EA was too busy advertising and making their franchises even for the Wii, they'll never bother to make another game and advertised another game already.

Activision was into Tony Hawk thing, I never seen any popular FPS comes from Activision. And I never seen any game from Activision without the Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk in it. And they already have a succesful FPS franchise already, its call of duty.

So Ubi is the safest bet

I don't think there has ever been an EA game that was difficult to walk into a store and buy, and they will heavily advertize games which have been considered high quality; this is the primary difference between EA and Ubisoft and one of the key reasons EA is the market leader, and sells many times as much software as Ubisoft.

I thought EA makes so so games and overrated it and advertise it heavily and milk it for ends if its succesful?:/

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

I'd like to know why people have 'Boycott Ubisoft' in their signatures, yet own a load of Ubisoft games. Do you even know what boycott means?

Who needs a time machine? I have never bought a Ubisoft game in my life... I take boycotting to the next level. Unless of course Ubisoft release a game I want, in which case i'll buy it... ... oh wait, did I do it wrong?

Whats your reaction? What will you do?

Anyway, there are reasons why there is 75 percent this might happen:

1) Its Ubi that crack the FPS implementation before Metroid Prime did. And thats a feat, EA with their Medal of Honor games have a clunky controls while Far Cry vengeance and Red Steel have solid controls while u get used to it. This will be a big reason why indie developers should publish their FPS game on Ubi. To make the controls of their FPS good.

2) Ubisoft made a indie developer with a niche title succesful.Yeah, 200,000 copies in US was bad but for Suda51 its already a feat, its a feat that if Suda wants to he can make a sequel out of No More Heroes. Yeah, no commercials and advertisements but what can you expect? Suda51 was already happy if this game sell 100,000 worldwide in its lifetime.

3) Ubisoft likes mature titles on the Wii, yeah I said it. No More Heroes dont have gore/blood on Japan and europe but Ubi calls a green light not to censor it or moreso, added the blood and gore in No More Heroes. Then Tenchu IV why would Ubi wants to publish this? Any opinions about this?

And dont be affected what forum admin and executives talking in their ass. What there saying wasnt the full representation of Ubisoft. I dont really mind if Ubi publish this game to be honest.

Fail. I can't say how well the controls for Far Cry and Red Steel are since I've never played them, but Far Cry got pretty poor reviews, with controls being a main problem, and Red Steel got mixed reviews and opinion's about its controls, but no matter what reviewers said about Medal of Honor, they seemed to like the controls, which were both very accurate, customizable (to a degree), and they just fit in every way.

I didn't bother reading the rest of your post because I need an explaination of where you got the "EA's Medal of Honor Wii controls are clunky" statement.
