Well we lost Matt Carle in the trade & also got rid of Patrick Rissmiller to the Rangers so that clears up a little bit of cap space. Blake was a $5 mill cap hit but even then we weren't at the cap for the salary cap. Boyle's cap hit is 6.66 mill per year. So we added 11.6 mill. Currently the Sharks have 51.451 million committed for next year, leaving 5.249 million in cap space

Sharks also trade away Craig Rivet for draft picks from Buffalo. Interesting day for Sharks fans. Somewhat bittersweet. Nice to see Dan Boyle arrive but sad to see Craig Rivet go
