You make a good point, too, tiachovutru, many religious people look at atheists or people who subscribe to other faiths to be heathens and such, so it goes both ways.

The first guy made a good point in the misappropriation of funds and how religious buildings are gold plated while the commonfolk are living in Shantys. However, that does not have anything to do with the existence of God. It does, however, show the gap between rich and poor. I could do my own youtube video and show pictures of bill gates and steve jobs and contrast that with poor people and make my case against capitalism. Its just sad to see such a stark contrast between the rich and the poor :-/

Just going to say that I am a devout athiest, and am absolutely certain that God doesn't exist. There is no point to try and prove/disprove God one way or another - its a question of faith (and I have a lot of faith that there is no God).

At least you recognize that it IS a matter of faith.

I'm just glad that through all the arguments this thread didn't fall into a bunch of unintelligent, rude rambling. And to the guy who asked, this thread got into Christianity mainly because most of the people who came here saying God exists were christians.

i don't usually have a problem with people's beliefs, but *how* some present their beliefs-- are they condescending? are they using personal attacks? -- THAT'S the problem.
