Marine Corps are an "Expiditionary Force" which basically means they travel light and fast, Army is more hard and heavy. Marine Bootcamp is 13 weeks plus Infantry school which is mandatory for all Marines regardless of MOS, Army BCT (basic combat training) last 9weeks then you leave to AIT (advanced individual training) which length depends on your MOS. Marines are usually deployed more than Soldiers and I believe the Marines are a division of the Navy (a.k.a. Seamen). I have friends in the Marines but I rarely hear anything positive, the word they usually use to describe the Marines is 'corrupt'. Sure Marines get more respect than a soldier (and they should) but for me Army is more interesting.

I wanted to join, but then my mum watched Black Hawk Down and....well....you can imagine what her opinion was after that.
