I was wondering if anybody on VGChartz has or is serving in the armed forces for their respective country? I'm not currently but will be commissioned in 2011 as a 2LT.

Im getting ready to join the US Army, I just cant seem to pass my ASVAB test. Its been 2 years since Ive been in High School and in college I majored in Physical Education so I haven't takin a real math, vocabulary, science test in a looooong time. Ive only been to MEPS (and failed the ASVAB) once so I hope the second times the charm. I did have a hard decision in to whether to join the California Army National Guard or the US Army but I really think the US Army is the better decision.
Also VGCharter Routsounmanman (spelling?) recently left for the Greek Army so good luck to him.

How about the US Marines? Is the US Marines much different to the US Army?
In some countries military service is compulsory for a year or two. There is a long list of countries somewhere.
Australia, USA and Britain at one time had compulsory military service. The voting age was changed to 18 was 21 at one time. At 18 years old people were forced to go to war but not allowed to vote.
Most countries in the world have a compulsory military service mostly it is the industrialized western countries that do not.
