Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Street Fighter IV may come to the Wii if audience shows they want it.

http://www.destructoid.com/elephant/index.phtml?start=16

When Street Fighter IV was first teased last year, rumors began to circulate that the title may indeed be coming to the Wii. The rumors were squashed recently, when Capcom officially announced that the long-awaited fighter would be coming home to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC only.

In fact, the game's producer Yoshinori Ono told us that the initial rumors got so bad, they actually had to send an email to Nintendo with an apology. So I asked him, is the possibility of a Wii version of Street Fighter IV that ridiculous?

"It's not that a Wii version would be impossible or just so far outside the realm of physical possibitlies to blow our minds or anything," he said via a translator. "We're not ruling anything out; anything's possible."

So why the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC?

"When it comes down to looking at the main target we're trying to hit with this game," he told me, referencing people who probably played Street Fighter II on the Genesis or Super Nintendo, "these guys are more likely to own a PS3 or Xbox 360 than a Wii."

But like he said, don't rule anything out. Maybe a petition (or nine) might help.

"So really, are there fighting game fans that want this, especially in North America?" he asks. 'If there are, and it turns out there are, then we're more than willing to do something for them. But right now, it just seems like a safer bet to go with the 360, PS3, and PC."

First of all, why the hell can you just paste one paragraph at a time from Destructoid? Was that just a glitch?

Second, this is not saying the Wii audience doesn't exist. This is saying they just aren't sure.

Let's make them sure. I can't, since I don't have a Wii, but what about the rest of you?

Okay, why would someone who owned an SNES be more likely to own a Non-Nintendo console?

they are from montana thats why >.> ....i'm surprised their not releasing it for the ds and psp also.

Hmmm smells like a petition waiting to happen.

Nintendo is abandoning the hardcore? Gamers grew out of Nintendo?

On topic: How are Wii owners supposed to let them know?

Well petitions rarely work (I only have issue with those who claim they never do), so you could write letters. Perhaps mail Capcom photos of  you with your Wii, and on the back, it says, "I want my Street Fighter IV!"

I like this attitude that customers need to earn the right to buy products. It's very novel. I wonder how this business strategy will work out for them.

Or use Capcom-Unity forums... Maybe Sven ends SO PISSED about the Wii gamers ruling the possibility of a SF4 Version that he demands it, or something like that. lol

That is the stupidest reasoning I have ever read.

I guarantee there are more SNES/Genesis users on Wii than PS360 combined. I am from that generation as is all of my friends. Only one of which ows a PS360 and that person owns all systems.

Same stupid logic that wii has no hardcore base. F-that. Put out some hardcore quality Wii titles and lets talk.

Well it seems like an odd strategy but I'm a Wii owner who has no interest in SFIV so good luck guys. ;)

I'd recommend writing letters (not emails) and posting on Campcom's own forums, www.capcom.com/BBS/

Boycott Capcom and you have nothing left. I think you should let them go with this one.
