lol i know man I got 3 of my friends to get PS3.
I talked a friend of mine into PS3 also.
At the time we thought it was a sinking ship, but I jumped on for full BC, he was going to get 360 for Oblivian, but I talked him into PS3 due to it having the superior port. He's since become a bigger fanboy than I.
We'll miss you George.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.
1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far
unfortunate for him that his 360 broke, although rrod is getting better but there is no doubt that many people who got rrod got a ps3 instead.
Atleast my 360 is still working.
Plus, if he never had Bioshock, (and lets face it... Mass Effect too)
Then he can pick those games up on the PS3 eventually as well.

Microsoft isn't going to let Mass Effect go to the PS3. They published the game and I think part of them letting EA publish the PC version was to keep it off Sony's console.
