All I have to say is that Wii Sports will no doubt go down in history as one of the most significant videogames in history, not to mention just this generation.

It is almost solely responsible for most of the fanboy anguish today since it is without a doubt the biggest wii system seller ever.

It got rated in the 70s.

I might agree with you, but, having played the game, I would also give it a 70. Review system lives. Just because it uses a nice controller does not make the game.

I have a 360.  The Wii has more games that are more fun in my opinion.  And the 360 hasn't had any good releases this year yet (none that are 8/10 or better in my book).

Mario Kart and Smash get most of the play time at my house.  Mario Kart, in particular, because its online is so great.

Good job JaggedSac. Crunching numbers like this is never fun...but the end results we all want to know. :) 

This is why reviews don't matter.  I've loved games rated 70 and I've hated games rated 98.  Reviewers have their own personal tastes, and I have mine.  I'm willing to admit that the Xbox 360 definately has good games and may be the console for some people.  But I'm a very happy PS3/Wii owner.  This generation has been the best for me.  I don't care what the review score says.

Ikaruga is a badass game. Maybe too hard for some.

I agree that personal taste is all that matters. I personally love the Dynasty Warriors games.  They really are crap.  But I can stream some music from my pc and just hack and slash away.  What a site like MetaCritic does do, is put a large number of tastes together and give an indication better than one review score.
