On may 1st Justice a French electro duo (i love em) released their music vid for their much loved "Stress" which is one of their more hardcore tracks. The video follows a French gang of youths through the subburbs of Paris, mugging, vandelising, assaulting etc. The video is beautifuly directed by Romain Gavras.

not much into techno but I can see your point of this being 'art' art dosent have to be pretty, it can show many emotions, including rage and disgust, and I think this video showed that perfectly.

Anything that Aphex Twin & Cunningham did together is better than this (music & video art style). I think even the Basement Jaxx music (and their videos) are better.

But this Justice video is more provocating (and inspired by the movie “La Haine” I suppose), as it puts the finger in the wound of its society and is visually done simple enough to make the right people angry and the right people buy their records and their clothes (the jackets in the video with the band sign can be bought).

Youth culture always takes the simple road to provocate, which is understandable but also a bit boring as the same thing has been done similarily in earlier decades all over the world (starting with the early Rock´n´Roll movies in the 50s).

Director Romain Gavras is Costa´s son, btw. No wonder he´s interested in social & political topics.
