Forums - Microsoft - are our XBOX 360 US numbers inflated?

Didn't MS just announced recently (May 14 - http://news.cnet.com/8301-13772_3-9944256-52.html) that they passed over 10m XBOX 360 sales in the US, with Wii trailing closely behind? How come we already report over 11.7m for 360 and over 11.4m for Wii in the US? Is this due to the discrepancy between "shipped" and "sold" items? It is not as if I have something against XBOX but ... at least we should not beat MS in the count of their own units.

I think the USA flag being next to "America" in the charts is doing more harm than good... It may well be one of the causes for these threads popping up every once in a while.

Not that I know of, which probably means there shouldn't be a flag there at all :P

I agree with you there, although the same applies to using the European Union flag representing the whole of others.

Yeah, same thing there. Illustrations are nice, but these are just misleading.

Well the US does make up a very large majority of sales in "NA", but the other countries also add a bit, too ;-p
