Danny is the creater of Super Columbine RPG and the movie about the reactions about the game. 

Danny Ledonne, creator of the controversial Super Columbine Massacre RPG game has posted a message on Facebook concerning a radio interview this evening:

On Saturday, May 24th at 7pm EST, Danny Ledonne will appear on Free Talk Live radio to discuss his completed documentary "Playing Columbine: a true story of videogame controversy".

 

Joining him during the show will be attorney and activist Jack Thompson, one of the interviewees from the film. Ledonne and Thompson have previously appeared separately on the show; Thompson was also the first FTL guest to hang up on the hosts. The upcoming program can be streamed at http://www.freetalklive.com and the archive will be available online as a free .mp3 download after the show.

Crap, I was going to create this thread on Monday (when I'm not drunk).

This is a wonderful talk and there are good calls. Jack Thompson gets caught in a lie. He said that games should not be banned and then it is brought up that he called for Manhunt 2 to be banned and he admitted that he just lied. He also talks about market based solutions. A caller from the UK mentioned guns and everyone agreed that guns are good! It was quite funny when Andrew of Gamepolitics.com and Jack argued like they were an old married couple. Lots more.

All in all, a great show. My hat is off to Ian and Mark (the hosts of Free Talk Live) for the good times. I am not part of Free Talk Live. I'm just a fanboy that donates money to the radio show/ podcast.

BTW, about market based solutions. My company, Costco, doesn't sell games like Grand Theft Auto 4 :( That is a market based solution (meaning no government force is involved) but I am not exactly excited about it. Although, anything is always better than a government solution.

P.S. About the last time Free Talk Live did a Jack Thompson interview, I think he hung up on the show. I think that is the only time any guest has ever hung up on Free Talk Live.

He's right and everybody else is wrong... Don't try to challenge it because it's a 'fact' and if you say you like video games and aren't a killer, you're 'not counted statistically'... Which is funny because gamers 18-30ish or whatever are the majority...

Yea, I totally agree with saying that there can be some effect of video games on young or mentally unstable people, but it's too bad that video game critics don't seem to want to work to fix the industry, but instead want to try to take it down and claim glory.

It was hilarious how he takes the data that 20% of young people were able to buy a mature video game and then makes the claim about Detroit to make the other information seem false.

Well, I guess most of his other arguments were pretty hilarious. Why must all the video game critics be a douche to everybody?

The average age being 33 doesn't necessarily make his statement wrong. I'm not sure where he got his numbers and I don't know if they are right or not but its very easy for the majority age to be younger than the average age.

Just as a simple example if you had forty people who were 22 and twenty people who were 60 the average age of the group would be almost 35, yet the majority of people (2/3rds) are still under the age 25.
