Forums - Sony - Will Metal Gear Sold 4 Need a HDD Install?

This doesnt matter because i have a 250 gig hardrive... dont complain about hardrive space when all of you have countless options that give you double the space of the xbox for HALF the price.

ANYTHING that makes my system run better i want them to do and i want them to do it with EVERY game. This is the reason GTA runs better on ps3 even tho it was really ported from the xbox.... its just better to run off the harddrive anyway.

1080p or 720p doesnt matter. ps3 has more native 1080p games anyhow. plus this will not make the game better or worse.. its the biggest exculsive of the year and i can not wait for it to come out.

I don't know what I dislike more... The pathetic 20GB drive in the 360 with no installs or 30-40GB of my PS3's 60GB drive getting taken up by installs, demos, and the like.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

Seems like it`s NORMAL that developers USE HDD to make loading faster.

If you have an HDD, and can make loadings 2-3 sec instead of 10 sec, then why NOT use it?
All PS3 models have HHD, while x360 core and arcade models don`t.

Mandoroty install? well developer want you to get best experience while PLAYING the game. =)

Blu-ray is NOT slow in Uncharted, Ratchet and other Great looking PS3 games.
The end.

Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.

i've ye to have problems with game installs. Nothing but good.

Uncharted requires 2gb, but it doesn't install the game at all. Well, it does but only when you play the game.

Perhaps (though, I must admit, not likely), MGS4 will be the same.

are you sure? so it installs the data at start up, then removes it after? never had to wait for any sort of install myself...

Those 4.5 gigs of install time will be the longest 10 minutes of my life...

PS3 with the game installs. lol. PS3 is basically a stripped down PC with a Blu-Ray included. 4.5GB install for MGS 4. 3 or 4 GB for other games memory will soon fill up. 120 GB HDD will hold between 30 to 40 games or so maximum. Spend more dosh and get a larger HDD 500GB.

BTW: 40GB HDD maxed out with 10 game installs

Rock_on_2008, stop being intelligent and making sense.

You're doing too much of both in this post which clearly contradicts the forum persona you've worked very hard to build and maintain.

I am an odd gamer who will pick-up and play a game for 10 minutes after having not looked at it for over a year so the installs are an issue for me. I am a rare breed of gamer though. Having to spend more money on the most expensive console on the market just to avoid reinstalling games a thousand times is dumb. If I shell out $400 I expect to be able to play as many games as I want without the annoyance of having to uninstall/install games to manage my space. I really hope this trend does not carry on to the next generation of game consoles.
