Forums - Gaming - Dissapointments of this generation

The only way to establish a dissapointment is to ask the fans of the genres. Thats why I dont trust any review sites or game mags. I use RPG gamer website to talk to my RPG fans about the good and bad RPG's. There is 100,000's of thousands who use that site. Because alot play WOW to. Also the same with other genres. Like Ninety Nine Knights for instance, It didnt get reviewed well but against Dynasty Warriors it kicked arse.
I completely disagree with 1,2,4,5 and 10. The only reason Blue Dragon and LO didnt sell FF numbers is the 360 userbase in Japan.

Read the comments they are quite far from the mark.

Orange Box for the PS3 sucked, but then again many ports for the PS3 have at least one problem or another.

Maybe you should play the game, it plays just about the exact same as the 360 one. There are less then 5 slowdowns during the 3 half lifes. And the loading time is not that much more, it is comparable to the extended load times that most 360 games have over the PS3 versions. TF2 and Portal also ran perfect.

LOL i've played Orange Box on PS3.

It's HORRENDOUS. Episode 2's framerate is juggling from the minute you start. Try using the gravity gun, shoot an explosive at the wall, wait 4 whole seconds as the PS3 calculates where all of the objects in the environment should go, then watch the framerate slowly rise from 0.5 FPS back to the 15-25 range.

Team Fortress 2 was absolutely terrible. It was lagging horrendously. I tried to play it for about 5 minutes or so, it kept lagging, and then I disconnected. The game wasn't even worth it using the dual analog.

Honestly. Before telling people to play the game, how about you play the PC version, and see how this is supposed to be?

This is coming from someone who extensively played the Orange box on PC, and then played it on PS3.

Finished Episode 2 not long ago. Didnt notice this on 360 version.

Linky?

I thought that was entirely false...

A game can generate 30 million in revenue and be profitable?

If it costs $10-15 million to make (GeoW cost $10 million) then why not?  In any case, sales in others also add a substantial premium to the revenue due to higher game prices.

IIRC, that doesn't include any of the costs of developing the engine (for Gears).  (Granted licensing it won't cost millions).

assassins creed, the missions were repetetive like hell

gta iv, dissapointing story and a shit ending to top it off. not enough missions

Reviewers and reviewing websites.

They seem to only get worse every generation.

Thats becasue he is a fucking lieing peice of shit selnor, go to the Orange box Ps3 page and message every single person who owns the game and they will tell you he is full of it.

my biggest disappointment is Japanese developers except for nintendo and capcom

Wii/Mario Kart Wii Code:2793-0686-5434

I’ve been happy with most of my Wii games with one terrible exception, Call of Duty3. I was really looking forward to revisiting my old friend from the PC with the frustrations of the an overly complex (to me) control system replaced with a more natural intuitive one. I didn’t care about the difference in graphics, and until they achieve true photo realism, I probably won’t. But whoever designed the controls needs to have a Panzerfaust fired up their butt.

Kudos for a total lack of effort. If they had controls like Link Crossbow Trainer or even MOH, I would have been a happy camper. Instead the controls were so wonky and overly sensitive that the game was totally unplayable.

Isn't the #1 reason why The Orange Box for the PS3 review scores are (on average) 10% lower than the XBox 360 or PC versions because of massive performance issues?

I really have to wonder about Mario Kart's placement on that list. It is a disapointment for them because they thought it was a sim racer it seems. I really have to wonder if they had ever actually played the game, or any other Mario Kart game in existence. Worried about getting hit with a pow block? Seriously? The item is completely avoidable. They did need to throw something in the list to make it not so seemingly biased against the PS360, but there are better games to choose from.
