Forums - General - In what order should Star Wars be watched?

1-6.

That is the whole story of Anakin, the point to the SW movies in the first place.

Jar-jar was humorous, episode one was a fundamental building block on Anakin's life. It was necessary for the whole story.

Sometimes I just don't understand why people fear change so much. Nothing will ever be like the original except the original. I expect many of the same people will whine about the upcoming Indiana Jones movie. Meh, they were all good movies.

Episode 1 was alright, pretty interesting.

Episode 2 was shit, boring, a waste of time.

Episode 3 was okay, pretty boring but some good action.

God Jar Jar Binks is annoying. Seriously how can anybody like that character? He clearly was only even included to please the little children. I swear Lucas only put him in to make adults watching the movie feel bad because any scene that he was in turned it into a childrens movie.

Ewoks on the other hand were both fucked up and hilarious, not my favourite creature but definitely nowhere near as bad as Jar Jar.

I prefer B

You need to see 4, 5, and 6 first to get all the story out of 1, 2, and 3. They are PREQUELS, which is a type of SEQUEL. They are the backstory, but intended to be seen after you know the story. On the one hand they explain some extra details about 4, 5, and 6, and fill in the gaps, but on the other hand they ruin parts of the original plot and add more plotholes.

Watching 1, 2, and 3 first to get the backstory of Anakin doesn't matter if you don't already know what's gonna happen later. It just doesn't have the same suspense effect of "ooh damn I know where this is all gonna go! How's it gonna happen?" If you watch 1, 2, and 3 first they're just kinda "meh" plotwise CGI-fests with some good action sequences, and then 4, 5, and 6 look really boring action wise, even though they have better acting and motherfucking Billy Dee Williams up in that bitch.

If george lucas released episode 1 (with jarjar binks et. al) in 1977 instead of episode 4, then it would have been an epic fail, IMO.

Yeah... the acting in 1-3 wasn't great.... aside from Samuel L Jackson... who actually played a pretty kickass calm jedi character.

... Until he got into a fight.  He was the perfect emotionless calm Jedi master... then the fight starts and he suddenly reverts into the "Sam Jackson badass" character he plays he almost every movie he's in.  I expected him to start shouting "You can't beat me you motha F******s I'm SAM motha F***in Jackson!"

I actualy want to change my mind. If you have never seen starwars watch 4,5, and 6 1st. That way alot of things wont be ruined before you watch them. Like the "I am your father" scene.

If you have already scene all the starwars and want to watch all them again.
I suggest 123456 order.

He said he's never watched star wars.  Not that he was born in a cave with bad cable reception.
