Forums - Sony - Where are my PS3 rpg's?

Seriously, I miss my RPGs. The only one that I own that still works is LotR: The Third Age (excluding handheld games that I never play). I might have to check out Oblivion, because with Haze getting bad reviews, I'm gonna need something to keep me busy this summer.

MS bought some of the early theoretical ones.

But the 360 breaks, so.

EDIT: that's a lot of upcoming exclusives! Plus, you could also play Persona, Disgaea 2, that recent space fantasy game, and then indeed most of the PS2 rpg library, if you have BC.

Your answer to everything against M$ is RRoD. I hate to break it to you but it's no longer an issue. 3 year warranty and  Jasper in a few months. Plus I'lll never ever have it again. I've modded mine and it runs at a lovely 38-40 degrees after hours of play.

OT: To the Baeatles song: Where have all the flowers gone.

Where have all RPG's gone
Gone 360 everyone.
Where have all RPG's gone
Far far away.

Where have all RPG's gone
Gone 360 everyne
When will they ever learn
When will they eeeever leeeeaaaarrrnnn.

:). Sorry couldnt resist.

xD Wtf Selnor xD the 360 hardly has some huge number of RPG's to consider "ALL", if the PS3's number of RPG's is "non existent", then the 360's number is garbage xD I can almost guarantee you the PS3 will have a ton more JRPG's this gen than the 360 will xD

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

Man you guys are so sad xD How fast has ANY console been to get out a shitload of RPG's? Lesse, the PS3's been out what, a year and a half? How many badass RPG's came out the 360's first year and a half? Aside from Oblivion, did ANY? How about the Wii? Oh wait that's right no one could predict how amazing the sales would be and Nintendo obviously didn't bother lining any up for you by maybe publishing a title here and there?

The PS3 will have more than it's fair share of RPG's you can count on that. They take time to make and when all these people who bought a PS3 for rpg's actually goes out and ummm buys these upcoming RPG's, developers will have no concern as to what platform to make them on x.x

To add to that, the XBox360 has been out for 2.5 years and has had what, 3 mediocre RPGs released? The PS3 will have done a GREAT job of catching up the the XBox360's year head start if FF 13 gets released early next year and WKS gets released late this year.

I hope you aren't including Lost Odyssey as one of the mediocre RPGs because the game is good IMO

Borderlands will be SWEET. (probably.)

Though I somewhat cringe at calling it an RPG. Then again i'm still getting used to ARPGs being RPGS instead of Adventure games with a slightly different powerup system. (You gain a level and get more HP, instead of gain a heart container... this is really different enough to make it a different genre?)

Key words being "IMO."  The game has a 78 on metacritic.  I'd say that's pretty mediocre.

Has a new Shin Megami Tensei game been announced for the PS3? I just started Persona 3 FES, and so far I'm loving it (only played about 5 hours so far). I'm not even that big an RPG fan (one of the only RPGs I can remember beating is Golden Sun).

There was a brief announcement about it MONTHS ago.... but there has been no word of it since... and since then Persona 4 has been revealed.

So whateveri t is... if it still exists it isn't going to be a Persona game.  Not that the Shin Megami games have been much different.

Ok, so as quite a massive RPG fan, I've played through Oblivion, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect so far this gen. Lets see. Oblivion awesome. I finished it 3 times before PS3 hit shelves. Eternal Sonata worst of these I mentioned but still consider this better than FF8-12. Blue Dragon good little JRPG sort of like Disagea(but not 2 cause that was a bit lame), and LO well this is as good as FF7 except it has the best character progression in any JRPG ever. And Mass Effect, What an experience. Then in a couple of months I have Infinate Undiscovery and Tales of Vesperia to get. Possibly Cry On the next Mistwalker game this year to Oh and Fable 2. If I had owned a PS3 since launch, as a RPG fan I would have pulled all my hair out by now.

Eternal Sonata < FF8-12 ....your opinion is your opinion but metacritic (and far majority of fans) would disagree

Blue Dragon =/= disgaea .......WHAT in the world does Blue Dragon have to do with Disgaea??

LO <<<<<< FF7 .....the battle system in LO was pretty much ripped out of FFX, just without all the cool summons, party switching and overdrives. The short stories were great but the main story was IMO rubbish, generic and tried way too hard that the VO's started getting annoying. As for characrer development... yeah it was the best I've ever seen, I mean when was the last time a warrior ever had amnesia just to travel the world and meet allies with the same goals as him to prevent a badguy from conquering/destroying the world while he tries to remember his past? Who has ever done that one before? it's just so fresh and iintuitive! [end sarcasm]
