Forums - Gaming - Has The Wii Fit Console Sales Peak Already Come and Gone?

All available pre-orders sold out, almost certainly to people that already had or recently purchased a Wii. People that weren’t able to get a pre-order won’t necessarily buy one until the Wii Fit supply is ample.

I little bird told me that Nintendo has 4 Millions Wii Fits ready for the US launch (first 2 weeks) No I am not kidding! The source is normaly trustworthy, but used the phrase "I heard that" which was the first time, but still, I put trust in it. So be ready and warned it will get maybe a little on the Wii Fit launch ;)

you will definitely see a surge in us h/w when wii fit comes out and the following 2-4 weeks afterwards as well, at the expense of japan/others h/w.
h/w will possibly swing back to normal or in others favor when brawl is released there

The Wii had stellar sales in March and April, higher than was anticipated. The reason for the extra sales was most likely the Wii Fit peak which occurred in advance of the release.

no, the reason for the extra sales was mario kart and brawl.

No, it's coming.

If that's true then all hell's breaking loose and this industry will never be quite the same again

If its true I'd bet they sell the lot.

Wow 4m Wii fit games(yes games). Thats awesome and Hopefully they all sell out. If so the craze will have started in the US.

wii fit being a particular title, the boost it gives the wii (meaning people buying the wii for this game) will be troughout it's life....late wii fit sale will most likely be with a Wii (I hardly think a gamer will say after 6 months... oh i gotta try this game out...)

Walmart did take pre-orders, and sold out. Don't know about Target but it's sold out on their website, Sears also.

The difference with Walmart's preorders is that those are usually just through the website. Each store should still get an in-store stock, as opposed to chains like Gamestop which generally only get allocated based on their pre-orders for the first shipment. Whatever they have pre-ordered per store will be what they get, give or take a unit or two, especially on tightly allocated titles like this. (Though if the 4M copies "rumor" for the first 2 weeks is accurate, this lack of supply debate all gets shot to hell anyway.)

The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

Nintendo always boosts supply for big game releases, all the supply will be sold, whether it is with a copy of wii fit or not.
