Probably. They are using the same character models from R1. They haven't implemented the new ones yet.

Hmm, but the chimera look way different in screenshots..have those changed? Maybe it's just that the color tones are darker.

I hope that is correct because if the hand stays like that it is really going spoile the game, especially being as the enviroment looks so good

At least for the humans. You're right because the chimera have been completely remodeled. Their heads aren't so awkwardly shaped anymore.
And they have shirts!
