The websites your're mentioning are only visited by traditional video gamers, so it's no wonder that they don't have a countdown clock for Wii Fit.

The Wii Fit hype is different, it's built up by the traditional media - TV and newspapers/(non VG) magazines - and by word-of-mouth recommendation.

That sir is the million billion dollar question because they will sell all that they can ship. All they ever said was that it would be more than a million but no hint about how much more. I'm guessing maybe 2 million and they're probably wishing it was 4 million because I think they could sell 4 million in a week. Remeber too that this is almost twice the price of a premium game.

It launches the 19th.  Though I saw that Wal-mart said they wouldn't have them available until the 21st for some reason.

I think what may have happened there is that WalMart spent a lot featuring it in their ads and on their website but the campaign had hardly begun and they were sold out. Their big promotion may have given them enough clout to get a quick 2nd shipment by the 21st. Rather than piss off half the preorder customeers they just decided to wait and have everybody get theirs on the same day.
