this is game ir looking really great it will get good reviews however im worried the delays will seriously impact sales

Haze is garenteed to sell atleast 1 million copies WW LTD

Just out of curiousity, why will it definitely sell 1 mill WW? I want it to achieve high sales after reading about i, but id never heard of it until i joined VGC a month ago, and nobody i know has heard of it either. Most people are waiting for MGS4 at this time surely, and not Haze?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

The game has gotten hyped but not among the mainstream but core gamers

hmm however i feel this game had more hype last year before it saw its delyas, i really hope this game does well though because its going to be one of the most original fps in a long time with the dual campaign and the unique multiplayer styels of being a mantel trooper pumped with nectar or being a masterful skillful rebel

Believe what you want, it still doesn't change the fact Famitsu gives reviews based on what their fans want to see.

So their Haze review could be every bit true and the score could actually be right but it still doesn't change the fact I'm not going to give two craps about whatever score they give.  As for their written review, I can't read Japanese so I really don't care about that part either.

So the Haze fans (??) wanted to see Haze get a high score?

Did the Doubutsu Kisoutengai fans not want it to get a high score then?  In the same issue it only got 25/40.

The review could be true and the score right, but you don't give two craps, and can't read Japanese anyway.

Amazing.

Like I said, when a game has some sort of hype or expectations, they pad their scores.  I have no idea what kind of Hype Haze has in Japan but the fact alone that Famitsu does this makes their scores worthless regardless of the game.

And yes, I don't care about a review I can't read.  I suppose people could transalte it for me but even then I see articles everwhere about some random Japanese person mis translated that I would even be cautious of that.

I'm not saying Famitsu is perfect, because it isn't, but in this case I really don't think Haze has any kind of hype or expectations in Japan. I live in Japan, and follow the gaming scene closely.

Thanks hanafuda, I dont live in Japan, but I cant believe that they would be excited for this FPS. After all, judging by the unpopularity of the 360, I cant see how this FPS would sell very well.

@twestern - what sites do you think are reputible for reviews? I always see people criticizing IGN, 1up, and now famitsu. Of course there are also the sites who give GTA4 a 70% just to get a few hits. Just curious on your thoughts...

First of all, I have to agree that famitsu gives high scores to games who are hyped in Japan but it is really hard to believe that this game is so hyped in Japan..

@jankazimierz. No review site is really trustfull. I guess a lot of people are now checking this days a lot of reviews and look what the critics are about it.

Scores of a particular site doesn't say much anymore..

I'll rent the game when I get a chance but I won't buy it after the demo. I won't reward Free Radical for basically copying Halo 3's first level in the demo. Lame. I really expect more out of the company than that.

When people talk about 1UP or!GN reviews or whatever, they're just going off personal views.  They think the site is biased, reviewers are paid off, or they just don't like the style.  I'm not talking about that.

I am talking about how Famitsu has said that they hand out reviews based on hype for a game.  Like I said, I have no clue if Haze was hyped in Japan, I really don't care actually, all I care about is that Famitsu hands out reviews based on hype for some games.

This isn't some fanboy conspiracy, this is fact.  I don't see how you can possibly trust their reviews after knowing that.  Haze very well may be a 34/40 or whatever, I'm not going to believe it from Famitsu until I actually see it (consistently) from other places.

Also, the fact it doesn't show up on Gamerankings says something too.
