I hope this thread is a joke.

I mean come on...Wii Fit? The true beginning of the "next-gen"?

No offense, but if you posted this thread on any other general gaming site, you'd get laughed at.

This isn't "any other general gaming site", this is the only website that reports weekly numbers and has aggregate historical numbers.

Hyperbole aside, I've been saying the same thing about Wii Fit since the 12th of July, 2007.

General gaming site - GameTrailers, GameSpot, IGN.

Try any one of those places and see the response you get.

I don't post at any of those places. I don't even visit Gamespot. Do they have interesting communities?

Some of you are missing the point.

Wii Fit isn't the point. The game just illustrates the potential of the Wii + mote + board.

Wii Sports isn't the point. The game just illustrates the potential of the Wii + mote.

See, the board is just the next extension. Nintendo's opening for the new gen of games is that we can now more actively participate in our virtual playgrounds.

That is why Wii, Wii Sports, and now Wii Fit are global phenomenons. It isn't the specific games and they won't crush high end visuals and play. They mearly give the solid introductions to add a new level of interaction that was previously unheard of.

I thank you Nintendo for once again saving the industry.

Wii is the new phenomenon, the force of the change is so strong I´ll get rid of my PS3 and go Wii-only.

I say:
Get the FUCK out of the way cinematic gaming age. Here comes the social gaming age.

Wait, what? How does Wii Fit help social gaming?

Wii Fit brings the rest of the family to the Wii. See how that works?

i'd actually disagree with this if i hadn't seen it happening first hand.. my brother has not touched the wii (outside of when we have a few people over and are playing multiplayer games) on his own, but since wii fit.. i find that he is playing it while i'm not home (not for exercise, but for trying to top my best scores - which embarrassingly he has done for some of them and i can't regain my title as 1st anymore)

Dammit. This is starting to happen to me. My niece and my brother are both playing it trying to top my scores. My niece is a teenager and is very good at the yoga portions. My brother is congenitally better than me at the balance games. Fuck, fuck, fuck! This is certainly the first time I've been motivated by, what for me, is a physical challenge.
