Look, unless I remembered incorrectly, that guy from gamefaqs admitted himself that he was just messing around with people.

Yep. Let's go over this...

1. The guy had a history of posting BS.

2. He promised two points would be confirmed in one week, and only one point was confirmed. He called a technicality by saying two characters confirmed was two different points.

3. The rumor that Lucas would replace Ness dates back to the development of Melee. It was going around literally 6 years before this guy said it.

4. He said Lucas would be the next newcomer confirmed, and instead Diddy Kong was.

5. Afterwards, the guy came out and said he was just BSing people.

The guy doesn't have any credibility left.

Let's try a little logic 101 here.. 

IF Lucas has different moves than Ness, THEN Ness is still in. If not, then Ness got the boot

Check out the picture with Lucas and Meta-Knight. Is Lucas footstool jumping off Meta? If not, is the move he is doing similar to one of Ness' or altogether different? Note the clear hexagon on top of Meta.

I hope he replaces nes. Nes was utterly useless in melee.

1. Just because a character is good/bad in Melee means NOTHING towards Brawl. It's a different game.

2. If Lucas replaces Ness, it will be because they have similar movesets.

I'm just glad to finally see another new character.

Well I agree let's use simple logic here, if those lines suggest Lucas is better, why put an "inferior" character in the game? Those lines either suggest they have very different movesets or either it means Ness is gone. I only played Earthbound 1 on the Snes and I loved the game. Perhaps they are hyping Lucas and Pit in this game in preparation of an old franchise to make it's way back to the home console ^_^

clandecyon, your posts are really bothering me.

First of all, the guy was proven wrong and then made a topic that said "Haha you are all retards for believing me." He was then banned and the topic was deleted. If you still believe him... then you are exactly what he called you.

Second, do you speak Japanese? Because if you don't I doubt you played Mother 3. There is only one group out there translating the rom and they aren't done with it yet. The Mother series is popular for it's quirky humor and it's pointless to play it without being able to read the text.

Third, how is there any logical justification for Ness's removal? The only one I see is that Lucas is too similar to keep them both, but Ness is a staple character with just as large an American fanbase as any Smash character. There are a lot of people who would hate to see him go. Don't act so arrogant about this like people have no right to miss him. That's just a really nasty attitude you have and if that's how you are going to post don't post at all.

 There is a justification for removing Ness in favor of Lucas just as there is a justification of removing Marth and Roy in favor of Ike. It doesn't really make much sense to have a character that is non-recurring in their own series as a recurring character in Smash Bros.
